Stòrlann have just launched a new resource, magnetic letter blends of the Gaelic phonic sounds.
“Fuaimean Fonaig” was produced after requests from teachers for support materials for Gaelic spelling. Each set consists of ninety different magnets including vowels with accents. These blends will allow children to break words down into the separate sounds once they have learned them.
The letters are made from purple foam rubber and are linked as they would be in handwriting. We hope this will also be helpful for children who need to improve their handwriting skills.
It would be good to hear feedback from teachers about this resource or indeed any other suggestions you might have for new materials which would be helpful.
