
Funding
Stòrlann is funded directly by the Scottish Government through the Scheme of Specific Grants for Gaelic Education and by Bòrd na Gàidhlig.
All local authorities in receipt of a Specific Grant for Gaelic Education is entitled to membership of Stòrlann. Special membership is held by the four authorities in receipt of the highest funding, at present Glasgow City Council, Comhairle nan Eilean Siar, Highland Council and Argyll and Bute Council. Sabhal Mòr Ostaig holds Special Membership on behalf of the tertiary education sector, and Comunn na Gàidhlig on behalf of the Gaelic community. Ordinary members include other authorities and a number of other Gaelic organisations.
