The clansmen were always obedient to the clan chief.<\/p>\n<p>They were his private army.<\/p>\n<p>Malcolm Canmore became King in 1058 after he killed MacBeth.<\/p>\n<p>After that a clan system began to appear.<\/p>\n<p>The clansmen had two lifestyles.<\/p>\n<p>They were farmers for part of the year, planting seed and looking after cattle.<\/p>\n<p>In summer they were soldiers, following the clan
